Meet Gary Smith
Gary Smith is an 18-year-old racer from Buchanan, Virginia whose journey began during the 2020 NASCAR season. After discovering iRacing and developing a deep passion for motorsports, Gary decided to try racing for himself.
In late 2023, Gary and his father found Franklin County Speedway and were introduced to longtime racer Wes Givens. That introduction changed everything.
Gary won the very first race he ever entered.
Since then he's become one of Virginia's rising short track racers — earning wins, championships, and multiple top points finishes in both Stock4 and Legend Car competition.
